Does Healthtopia Accept Health Net?
Healthtopia is in network with most PPO plans, including many Health Net plans. The easiest way to check your coverage is to call Healthtopia at (760) 230-1888. Our team can verify your specific insurance plan and help you determine whether you can receive care at one of our clinics.
If you have a Health Net HMO or Ambetter plan, coverage may depend on your provider network, assigned medical group, and referral requirements. We’ll help you understand your options and, if your plan allows, get you scheduled for an appointment.
Not sure whether your Health Net plan is accepted? Call us! We’re happy to check for you.
Please note that visits with our physicians and nurse practitioners may be billed to insurance when covered by your plan, while naturopathic services are self-pay.
What Can a Healthtopia Primary Care Provider Help With?
Whether you’re due for a checkup or something just doesn’t feel right, these are the things your primary care provider can help with:
Annual Physicals and Preventive Care
A yearly visit to check in on your health, catch things early, and keep your screenings on track.
Often covered as preventive
Chronic Condition Management
Ongoing care for conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes, with regular check-ins on how you’re doing.
Your usual copay may apply
New Symptoms and Routine Concerns
Coughs, rashes, aches, and other problems that need a doctor but not the ER.
Your usual copay may apply
Health Screenings and Immunizations
The tests and vaccines recommended for your age and health history.
Often covered as preventive
Women’s and Adolescent Health
Routine care for women and teens, from wellness visits to the everyday questions that come up in between.
Depends on the visit
Select Lab Testing and EKG
Some lab work and EKGs can be done during your visit, which can save you a separate trip.
Your usual copay may apply
On a Health Net HMO, preventive visits are generally covered when they happen through your assigned PCP and medical group. That’s why it helps to set up your PCP choice before booking your yearly checkup rather than after.

FAQs About Health Net Primary Care Doctor in San Diego
Is Ambetter the same as Health Net?
Ambetter and Health Net are connected but not identical. Ambetter from Health Net is the brand Health Net uses for individual and Covered California plans, while employer plans usually carry the Health Net name. The two often use different networks, so a doctor listed under one may not appear under the other.
My card says Wellcare by Health Net. Is that a Medicare plan?
Yes. Health Net’s Medicare Advantage plans now carry the Wellcare name, and they use their own network, separate from commercial Health Net plans. Call us to confirm coverage.
What’s the difference between Full Network PPO and EnhancedCare PPO?
Both are Health Net PPO products, but EnhancedCare PPO generally uses a smaller network than Full Network PPO, often in exchange for lower premiums. Check which one appears on your card before assuming a provider is included.
Can I switch my Health Net HMO doctor to someone outside my medical group?
Usually, you can’t switch without also changing your medical group. On Health Net HMO plans, your PCP has to belong to the medical group you’re assigned to, so moving to a Healthtopia provider may mean updating both your PCP and your medical group through Health Net member services.
