Healthtopia was founded in 2018 by two board-certified emergency physicians, Dr. Joy Hardison and Dr. James Howard. When Should You Choose Urgent Care Instead of the ER?
Urgent care is appropriate for many problems that need prompt medical attention but aren’t life-threatening, including illnesses, minor injuries, infections, cuts that need stitches, and certain symptoms that warrant an EKG. We have EKG and select lab work in the building, and if what you have belongs in a hospital, we’ll tell you so directly.
Go directly to the ER or call 911 for potentially life-threatening symptoms, such as severe difficulty breathing, signs of stroke, major trauma, severe chest pain, uncontrolled bleeding, or loss of consciousness.

Who Comes to Our Rancho Santa Fe Clinic?
Our clinic serves patients from Rancho Santa Fe and nearby North County communities, including Fairbanks Ranch, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Carmel Valley, Olivenhain, and surrounding areas.

We’re on La Granada in the Village, just off Paseo Delicias. The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe and the Rancho Santa Fe Library are both a short walk, and the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club sits just west of the Village center. Coming from Del Mar or Solana Beach, take Via de la Valle inland. From Olivenhain or Encinitas, come down Rancho Santa Fe Road and into the Village from the north.
