Does Healthtopia Accept UnitedHealthcare?
If you have a UnitedHealthcare PPO or Choice Plus plan, we most likely accept your plan.
Navigate, SignatureValue, and other HMO-style plans work differently. They usually ask you to name a UHC primary care physician, and some tie that choice to a specific medical group. Call (760) 230-1888 with your member ID, and our team will check your plan.
Visits with Healthtopia’s MDs, DOs, and nurse practitioners are billed to your insurance. The one exception is naturopathic visits, which are self-pay.
What Can a Healthtopia Primary Care Provider Help With?
Whether you’re due for a checkup or something just doesn’t feel right, these are the things your primary care provider can help with:
Annual Physicals and Preventive Care
A yearly visit to check in on your health, catch things early, and keep your screenings on track.
Often covered as preventive
Chronic Condition Management
Ongoing care for conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes, with regular check-ins on how you’re doing.
Your usual copay may apply
New Symptoms and Routine Concerns
Coughs, rashes, aches, and other problems that need a doctor but not the ER.
Your usual copay may apply
Health Screenings and Immunizations
The tests and vaccines recommended for your age and health history.
Often covered as preventive
Women’s and Adolescent Health
Routine care for women and teens, from wellness visits to the everyday questions that come up in between.
Depends on the visit
Select Lab Testing and EKG
Some lab work and EKGs can be done during your visit, which can save you a separate trip.
Your usual copay may apply
Most UnitedHealthcare plans cover recommended preventive care, like annual physicals, screenings, and vaccines, at no extra cost with an in-network provider. If the visit also covers a new symptom or an ongoing condition, your usual copay may apply to that part.

FAQs About UnitedHealthcare Primary Care Doctor in San Diego
Can my family members use the same Healthtopia primary care practice?
Healthtopia sees patients across different stages of life, so family members may be able to establish care in the same practice. Each person’s provider and UnitedHealthcare coverage should be checked separately, especially if family members are on different plans.
Can I transfer my medical records to Healthtopia?
Yes. You can have records from your previous practice sent to Healthtopia when you establish care. Recent test results, specialist notes, and your medication history help your new provider pick up where your last doctor left off.
Do I have to use an Optum clinic if I have UnitedHealthcare?
Not usually. Optum is part of the same parent company as UnitedHealthcare and runs clinics around San Diego, but most UHC members can choose any participating provider. The exception is an HMO whose medical group is Optum, which may keep your primary care within that group.
Where can I see who is listed as my PCP?
On many Navigate and SignatureValue plans, your PCP’s name is printed on your member ID card. You can also check it when you sign in to your UnitedHealthcare account. If you choose a new PCP at Healthtopia, update it there so referrals go through the right office.
